The middle aisle of Aldi is a land of wonder, and there on March 6th you’ll find a wandering robot vacuum for cheap. The Ecovacs Deebot NEO robot vacuum cleaner and mop will be half price at Aldi as part of the retailer’s Special Buys. Normally the NEO retails for $799, but while stocks last you’ll be able to grab one for just $399.

Ecovacs is no stranger to the Special Buys aisle- when we reviewed the Deebot NEO exactly a year ago today, the model was just about to enter the middle aisle with the same discount. At $799 the NEO is a mid-range robovac which didn’t quite make our best robot vacuum cleaners list, but at half price it is worth braving lines for. For comparison, we rated the NEO 4.25 stars, while the under $500 winner (Xiamoi Viomi V3) clocked in at 3.25 stars.

This model has simultaneous mopping and vacuuming functions, along with a 2,600pa suction power. 2,600pa works well for most day-to-day cleaning but if you have moderate debris you’ll likely need to supplement with a more powerful handheld vacuum cleaner. It doesn’t come with an auto-empty station but it is compatible with the Ecovacs Auto-Empty Station which will set you back an additional $408. This isn’t available from Aldi however.

Connected through the Ecovacs Home app, the NEO can map your home and allow you to customise cleaning schedules, suction power, and water usage on a room-by-room basis. It also works with smart home devices like Google Nest and Amazon Echo, and you can even set up verbal Shortcuts through iPhone if you’re so inclined.

Special Buys stock is limited and historically likely to sell out, so if you’re keen on inviting a robot butler into your home for cheap, get in quick.
