Watch tennis online in Australia

Serve up a tennis storm with Kayo Sports, Stan and 9Now.

There are a few different ways to watch tennis in Australia. The best one for the biggest tournaments also happens to be free. Hit up 9Now for a range of live tennis, replays, highlights and related coverage. 9Now is home to the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open. All you need to do is sign up for a free account and tune in.

For more tennis options, consider signing up for a Stan Sport account. The Stan Sport add-on costs $15 per month on top of the monthly subscription costs for Stan Basic ($10), Stan Standard ($15) and Stan Premium ($21). Stan Basic offers one SD stream, Stan Standard has three HD streams, and Stan Premium supports up to four 4K streams. Here are the tennis streaming options with a Stan Sport subscription:

  • French Open (Roland Garros)
  • Wimbledon Championships
  • Australian Open
  • US Open
  • Adelaide International
  • Hobart International
  • United Cup
  • World Tennis League
  • Laver Cup
  • Diriyah Tennis Cup
  • Mubadala Tennis Championship

For more tennis, you’ll have to pay but it all ultimately comes via BeIN Sports. There’s a seven-day trial for new sign-ups, otherwise BeIN Sports costs $19.99 per month or $179.99 per year (basically, $14.99 per month). Alternatively, BeIN Sports tennis content (and other codes) are available with a Kayo Sports or Foxtel Now subscription.

Here are the monthly prices for these Foxtel options:

  • Kayo One: $25 for one HD stream
  • Kayo Basic: $35 for two 4K streams
  • Foxtel Now: $54 for two HD streams (Basic + Sport add-on)

How else can I stream tennis in Australia?

According to ExpressVPN, there are multiple options for streaming tennis via international services. To bypass their geoblocks, though, you’ll need a virtual private network (VPN) subscription to a service that’s great for streaming. Start with a VPN that works well with BBC iPlayer (UK server) for select tennis tournaments. Best bit? It’s free. Here’s a selection of the best VPNs I’ve tested with BBC iPlayer:

Alternatively, connect to a US VPN server for some premium tennis options. The first is ATP tournaments that are available on the Tennis Channel, which requires a Fubo, Sling TV or DirecTV Now subscription to access. The other option is to sign up to Tennis TV (US$15 per month; US$120 per year) for a range of tennis tournaments throughout the year. The Live TV add-on Hulu is another way to access tennis matches that are streamed via ESPN.

Here's a look at the VPNs I’ve reviewed that work well with US streaming services:

  • Windscribe
  • ExpressVPN
  • NordVPN
  • Atlas VPN
  • Proton VPN

Watch the Australian Open

The Australian Open is done for 2023 but you can watch full match replays, minis and highlights packages on 9Now for free or with a Stan Sport subscription. The ongoing Channel 9 and Stan Sport tennis rights mean you should be watching the 2024 Australian Open via these same services, too.

Watch The French Open (Roland Garros) in Australia

To watch the French Open, or Roland Garros as it’s otherwise known, you don’t need to spend a cent. Sign up for a 9Now account and start streaming. The French Open starts 22 May 2023 and runs to 11 June. Alternatively, sign up for Stan Sport to stream the French Open. Stan has a 30-day free trial for new sign-ups but note there’s only a seven-day trial for Stan Sport.

Watch The Wimbledon Championships in Australia

For all of your Wimbledon coverage needs, sign up for a Stan Sport subscription or watch for free via 9Now. In 2023, The Wimbledon Championships start streaming on 9Now and Stan Sport from 3 July 2023 to 16 July.

Watch The US Open in Australia

As is the trend of this page, the best way to watch The US Open in Australia is via Stan Sport or for free on 9Now. Stream matches from The US Open on either Australian streaming service between 28 August 2023 and 10 September.
